DemandRegio

What is DemandRegio about?
DemandRegio examines the energy consumption in various sectors of the economy in the light of the challenges of the energy transition. The aim of the project is to develop models that can be used to map and forecast the regional distribution and the temporal profile of future energy demand in Germany. This information provides the basis for a variety of future research on storage and grid expansion requirements, sector coupling, efficiency potentials, demand side management and flexibilisation and much more.

We are looking for cooperation partners from the industry, commerce and trade, utilities and grid operators.
Required are (quarter-)hourly electricity, gas or heat load profiles from anonymised individual consumers or consumer groups. Descriptive company information (meta data) including characteristic factors for the energy consumption, such as the number of employees, the geographic classification and the industry.

Advantages of a cooperation with DemandRegio
We provide you with a comprehensive analysis of your load profile including pattern and outliers. In addition, we communicate anomalies, which enables a first cause analysis. The project outcome contributes to further research, efficiency potentials and demand flexibilisation. In addition, further questions and problems can be examined as part of a thesis, a student consultancy project or other programs. Potential access to funding from the BAFA funding program ‘Einsparzähler’ and other institutions.
